Meet the Board

🌟 Mission Statement

The Heartland Jazz Orchestra Foundation exists to sustain and elevate the Heartland Jazz Orchestra by providing financial, logistical, and promotional support that enables the band to perform, educate, and inspire. We fund performances, coordinate events, support attire and rehearsal needs, communicate to our audiences via various channels such as social media, websites, and email, and promote jazz throughout McLean County educational programs and schools. Through free, accessible concerts and community outreach, we help ensure that big band jazz remains vibrant, inclusive, and alive for audiences of all ages.

🎶 Vision Statement

We envision a thriving regional jazz community where live big band music is celebrated, accessible, and woven into the cultural fabric of Central Illinois. The Foundation strives to expand educational outreach, nurture future generations of jazz musicians, and support the Heartland Jazz Orchestra as a premier ensemble known for artistic excellence, community engagement, and a lasting legacy that began in 1999.

The Heartland Jazz Orchestra Foundation is a charitable organization which receives a substantial part of its support from donations, sponsors, and the general public. All board member positions are volunteer and non-paid. This group of jazz enthusiasts coordinate regularly to plan for events, marketing, and budget for each calendar year.
